The Trauma Network Office

The Trauma Network Office provides support to all of the organisations and service providers within and associated with, the major trauma pathways throughout the Peninsula.

It provides the following services:

  • Network reports and performance
  • Local TARN data support
  • Directory of Trauma Services
  • Clinical Governance and Audit
  • Support to the Network Executive Board, Clinical Advisory Group and Rehabilitation Group


The team comprises of:
 

Dr Julian Thompson, Peninsula Trauma Network and Severn Major Trauma Network Clinical Director
Dr Thompson is a Consultant in Intensive Care at Southmead Hospital Bristol, Associate Professor at the University of Stavanger, Norway, and a Critical Care Doctor for the Great Western Air Ambulance

 

Dr Nicholas Crombie, Governance Lead 
Dr Crombie is a Consultant Anaesthetist at RCHT, Medical Examiner in Cornwall as well as a Trauma Transfer Consultant and HEMS Consultant for Cornwall Air Ambulance
 
Dr Giles Haythornthwaite, Paediatric Lead (Peninsula and Severn Trauma Networks)
Dr Haythornthwaite is a Paediatric Emergency Medicine Consultant
 
Rachael Holt, Network Lead Nurse
Rachael is currently working in Clinical Quality Assurance at Devon & Cornwall ICB and is also a Clinical Skills Lecturer - UEMS

 

Michele Ahearne,  Peninsula Trauma Network and Spinal Cord Injury Network Manager

Natasha-Louise White, Peninsula Trauma Network Coordinator

 

Surgeon Captain, Professor Jason Smith, Honorary Research Lead
Dr Smith is an Emergency Medicine Consultant, Professor of Defence Medicine and Honorary Professor, Plymouth University School of Medicine & Dentistry
